1. Social Media Manager. In-house at an automotive company in Irvine, CA. Great salary.

Just did a quick side-by-side comparison between the cities (or villages, as the case may be) where I’ve lived, and the one (ahem … San Fran) on the “maybe very probably next” list. I’m just happy that the site didn’t audibly laugh at me when I typed in “Hicksville, OH,” which is what usually happens when I mention my hometown by name. (The percentage of people relocating out of Hicksville was lower than anticipated … but that accounts for the odd collection of people I see when I visit. They’re not going ANYWHERE.)

“As I’m gearing up for my next 5K (in full-fledged training mode now that daylight savings has brightened my mornings) I’ve decided to change my morning running route so that I’m going through Hollywood (instead of up by Griffith Park). It’s a less beautific route, but it comes with the added bonus of someday in the future being able to work into casual conversation the runs I used to take through Hollywood in the mornings. I imagine myself saying this to my children’s friends, who will be in awe of these obviously practically famous runs. Also, early morning is the only time Hollywood is really tolerable. Also, I got to run on the stars of Jack White, Lena Horne, and Patsy Cline.”
